签证奇葩说（二）：无法查询进度的英国签证

10月下旬去英国，国庆长假后递交了签证申请，签证中心的工作人员问我要不要付费开通短信提醒，我凭以前的经验回绝了，这个小小的回绝，给自己带来了大麻烦，回家后才发现，英国签证非常与众不同：

1）英国签证中心没有联系电话：官网上留的，是0044开头的英国的电话！

2）英国签证中心不提供免费的签证进度查询，无论是0044开头的英国电话，还是发邮件，都要另外收费！

不得已，花钱开通了邮件查询，发邮件过去查签证进度，回复的是格式化的邮件：告诉你耐心等待，等待10个工作日，自然会有结果。问题是一个星期过去了，再发邮件，他回复的是一模一样的邮件，还是让你再等10个工作日；又一个星期过去了，再发邮件，他再回复一封一模一样的邮件，还是告诉你再等10个工作日。感情这个付费邮件查询，就一个自动答录机啊。 眼看十个工作日过去了，还没有任何动静，出发的日期近在眼前，怀着焦急的心情，直接去英国签证中心，一问，签证早就好了，护照已经在签证中心躺了三天了，但却没有任何人，给过我们任何通知！

英国签证中心，是由VFS代理的，我同VFS多次打过交道，比如近期办理的阿联酋签证，比如西班牙签证，比如葡萄牙签证，比如南非签证，都是通过VFS办理的，印象中，其他任何VFS代理的签证中心，都有电话或者网站，可以查询签证进度，唯独英国签证中心不可以，那么这恐怕不是VFS的问题，而是英国领事馆的问题了吧！

不过，话说回来，英国签证，现在以180天签证的同样的价格，给2年多次往返签证，这一点还是非常厚道的。

最后，附上英国签证中心那千篇一律，自动答录机一般的邮件回复，博大家一笑：

Dear ****,

Thank you for contacting UK Visas and Immigration International enquiry service.

In regards to your query about the status of your application, we have made a decision on your application. We cannot discuss the outcome of your application on-line or by telephone. You should receive written details of your application within 10 working days. If you have requested a courier service, you can track the location of your travel document on line. If you have opted to collect your decision from a VAC team will notify you that your documents are ready for collection.

Please note that the onus is upon individual customers to ensure that they satisfy the requirements set out in the guidance material. The guidance material accompanies each and every application form. UK Visa and Immigration is not able to give, indicate or advise upon the outcome of any such application prior to it being given full and careful consideration.

Directing you to the guidance material is the only advice we can give you. If you need any further help you should seek independent immigration advice. Immigration advisors can help you with immigration matters, including completion of forms and representing you at a tribunal. The Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC) regulates immigration advisors, which means they must meet certain standards.
